Cedaron and CREcare Form Partnership to Distribute Outcomes Assessment Instruments to Rehabilitation Providers
Davis , CA - March 6, 2009-
Cedaron Medical, a software company that develops solutions for the healthcare industry to measure quality and CREcare, world-wide distributor of The Boston University AM-PAC™, the PEDI™ and the PEDI-MCAT™ have entered into an agreement for Cedaron to distribute electronic versions of these outcome measurement instruments and to develop both patient specific and organizational benchmarking reports. The outcomes measures will be added to the Company’s Rehabilitation product.
Karen Bond, President and CEO of Cedaron states, “We look forward to working with CREcare to create an efficient state of the art outcome measurement program for rehabilitation providers.” She further stated that “Cedaron has deigned a secure web portal where patients can complete assessments from their homes”.
The AM-PAC uses contemporary instrument development techniques to assess functional status across a wide range of physical, instrumental and applied cognitive tasks, but with far fewer patient responses than currently required by traditional functional assessments.
Richard Moed, President and CEO of CREcare stated, “The AM-PAC is appropriate for functional assessment in adults with a wide range of conditions and functional abilities. Because the AM-PAC can be administered in both inpatient and outpatient settings it can be used to measure patient outcomes for the complete episode of care”. Patients can respond to AM-PAC items or the instrument can be completed by clinicians or family members.
The PEDI and PEDI-MCAT are outcome instruments designed to measure the functional status of children with disabilities. The PEDI- MCAT is a new instrument, which focuses on mobility and self-care and has normative comparisons with non-disabled children up to age 14. According Richard Moed, “The PEDI has been distributed in a paper version since xxxx and is considered by many as the gold standard for assessing children with disabilities”.
