Customizable Support
For Your Society Registries
Cedaron
is a
certified vendor for both the American College of Cardiology (ACC) and
the Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS) national databases, and
CardiacCare provides an all-in-one, fully customizable solution for
your registry needs. And as your practice grows and
your needs change, you can add registries individually or all at once.
ACC/NCDR Databases
- PCI
- ICD
- Carotid Stent (CARE)
- ACTION (when available)
STS Databases
- Adult
Cardiac
- Adult
Thoracic
- Congenital
State Databases
CardiacCare
supports the California CABG Outcomes Reporting Program (CCORP) and
state databases. Many state databases are subsets of the ACC
or STS
databases, and CardiacCare automatically cross-populates similar
fields, saving time and reducing errors caused by duplicate entry.
CardiacCare includes the following state databases, and we will add
others as they become available or upon request:
- California CCORP
- Massachusetts Mass-DAC
- New Jersey Cath PCI
- New Jersey Cardiac Surgery
- New York Cardiac Surgery
Interfaces
CardiacCare will automatically import your ACC data from hemodynamic
interfaces and STS data from ADT interfaces.
If you have an electronic surgery system, we can build an interface to
transfer any STS fields into the appropriate part of our program.
For those STS users who do not have a surgery interface, we highly
recommend incorporating an ADT interface to transfer patient
demographics into CardiacCare.

Automatic Data Validations
CardiacCare performs two separate validations on your data, eliminating
your need to perform data audits.
First, CardiacCare validates the data transferred to our system from
your hemodynamic interface and removes any data that does not meet ACC
specifications. CardiacCare generates a log file for any
missing data.
Second, the software validates data at the point of entry,
automatically warning you whenever you input data outside the
permissible range for each ACC or STS element.
Data Completeness
With a click of a button, CardiacCare generates a data completeness
report at the patient level showing any missing information and taking
you directly to the appropriate ACC or STS field.
A second data completeness check is also performed at the harvest
level, just in case anything was missed at the patient level.
When harvest time comes for your registries, you’ll never
have to spend time searching for missing data.
Instant Help
Every information field in CardiacCare has a help button that explains
the correct data definition for that element set by the ACC or
STS. Since STS and ACC sometimes have different definitions,
these handy drop-down tips ensure that everyone using CardiacCare
enters data correctly.
Unlimited Custom Fields
Unlike many other software vendors, Cedaron products let you add an
unlimited number of fields in your forms.
Your custom data fields can be placed anywhere within the forms for
both the ACC or STS registries, seamlessly integrating your interface
and allowing more efficient data entry.
Additionally, all custom fields will be automatically added to the
outcomes analysis.
Harvest Time
When it comes time to put together your reports for an ACC or STS data
harvest, CardiacCare can easily separate the information for all
databases, national and state.
And if any of the databases change, Cedaron will provide an updated
version through our software maintenance contracts.
STS Risk Calculator
CardiacCare uses STS algorithms to compute risk adjustment, helping
surgeons determine the likelihood of:
-
Renal failure
-
Deep sternal wound infection
-
Reoperation
-
Permanent stroke
-
Prolonged ventilation
-
Mortality
-
Major morbidity
